Virtual reality has been talked about for decades, but high costs have limited it to the military. The Oculus Rift will change that. It's a $300 consumer VR headset that will be available next year. It recently set records on kickstarter when it raised $2.5M. We are one of a few on their partner list and have early access to a development kit. With it, physical feedback, and tracking techniques that we're developing, a game of laser tag will become an unprecedented immersive experience.

  • Melrose iRaiders
As the coach for the Melrose Middle School VEX Robotics team, I help students expand their knowledge and enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). In 2012, we competed in the World Championships. This year, our team grew from 2 students to 14. We made two robots and one earned the Judge's award at a high school match and the other the Design Award.
